Software installation on Linux with glibc 2.1

Software2Go's distributions use a small shell script to extract a tar archive of the software into its installation directory.

To install a Software2Go distribution, execute the following commands:

# tar xzf package tar archive name
# cd package directory
# ./motif-install

An example:

# tar xzf Motif-runtime-2.1.20-Linux-glibc-2.1-i386.tar.gz
# cd Motif-runtime-2.1.20-Linux-glibc-2.1-i386
# more README
# ./motif-install
./motif-install: Motif-2.1.20 successfully installed
# cd ..
# rm -rf Motif-runtime-2.1.20-Linux-glibc-2.1-i386 (optional)
#
